Thank you for your kind words!

@Allmycke, I suppose all pet owners do at some point. Thank you for sharing yours with me and taking part of mine with you.

@gina, Thank you for the healthy thoughts and supportive prayers! They help a lot!

@hans, I agree that it would be great to contribute what we can do the body of knowledge. However, as a human being with a vulnerable heart that easily forms deep attachments, I cannot view my Booger dog as a mere instrument of science. Sending her to Washington probably *would* provide a great data point, as I'm sure treatment of a 16-year-old dog is rare. But I just do not want to do that.

@mdr, thank you for your best wishes! Regarding amputation, there is absolutely no need to make a decision now. By the time she is 17, we'll see if she's a good candidate for amputation, and what her quality of life would be like at that point.

@bt, thank you very much! I'll keep you posted on how it goes!Arvayhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02300309277462514252noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8967839220888449722.post-89040969199978376412015-06-22T08:02:22.543-08:002015-06-22T08:02:22.543-08:00Sending good thoughts for a successful surgery.Sending good thoughts for a successful surgery.bthttp://bitingtongue.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8967839220888449722.post-27826589676264856442015-06-21T18:59:17.273-08:002015-06-21T18:59:17.273-08:00Best wishes for Linden's speedy recovery.
I...Best wishes for Linden's speedy recovery.

If I were a 16-year old dog, I wouldn't choose to lose a leg in exchange for living only slightly longer, maybe 16.5 year? maybe 17 year? I'm so glad you have options (although limited in Alaska) and are thinking about what your Booger would want. She is truly a beautiful and very special dog.Sarahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13293831414380058340noreply@blogger.com
