Things I never thought I'd say...
"Hi, I'm Daisy, and this is Autumn. I'm sorry to trouble you, but we were out skiing and can't find our way home again and we're too tired to keep trying different trails. We called my boyfriend to come pick us up, but then realized that we have no idea where we are. So... where are we?"

Phhht! I once saw ski/snowboard wax that was bright yellow or bright pink - it promised to leave neon tracks in the snow behind you. I'm sure the other skiiers/boarders would just love that - someone marking up the trails with their obnoxious board wax. But perhaps in your case it would be useful.
Hey, why don't you guys have a GPS? Would be a $100 well spent...
I concur on the GPS. Get a garmin forerunner and you can have fun, fun, data to analyze on speed, elevation, location, etc.
Okay. I'm sick.

GPS! They make ones for doggies, even - you can clock Autumn's speed. :)
