So the report on the new job is not too terribly exciting. On Monday, I will begin a new job as a Research Engineer at the Alaska Center for Energy and Power.
I will also keep my present office and lab space until I complete my thesis, the target for which is this Fall. I have completed 1.5 out of 3 chapters for my thesis, and will spend some evenings and weekends of my summer writing the rest. But, essentially, my grad student life is over as of tomorrow.
sniffle, sniffle
And that is all.
Enjoy the weekend, everyone!

You worked full-time at Silicon Valley and studied part-time to get your master. Now you plan to work full-time (?) and also complete your phd. You are always diligent but just don't overwork yourself. Get enough sleep and keep a balanced diet.
Your mom's right - just -when- are you going to find the time?? Well, I know you will find the time and finish it all up, but whoof, I thought you'd start the job after you completed your thesis.
And with the nice summer weather coming up I hope you don't miss out on too many nice-weather adventures.
Well, at least it's not for forever and when it's all over you'll have a nice shiny phD!
So now I'm looking forward to hearing more about what you'll be doing for your new job!
Me too!!
Please share with Rena and mdr about your new job. Hope it is what you will enjoy.
Congrats!
Hope your first day was a good one, and that you accomplished something shiny so as to properly impress the new employer.
