
I snapped these from my window while waiting for an opportunity to move:

When a construction worker spotted me leaning out the window with my camera, he came over with a big grin and said, "Konichiwa!" When I laughed, he said, "Where are you from?" To which I replied, quite eloquently, I believe, "San Francisco... errr... I live in Ester... errr... whaaa...?"
