The roof glacier is still attached, although it is sliding down:
It's blocking my evening light, which is very annoying! If it's still there when I get home this evening, I'm going to slice the edge off with a machete!
I had my first spring meal the other night--pasta with asparagus, tomatoes, garlic, and feta:
Linden admired it:
Linden, she is cute:
"Oh... is this your pillow? I thought it was mine!"

Pls be careful using those tools. Make sure it does not slip off your hands and your footing has to be on non-icy and non-slippery ground.
Be careful when walking under the icy roof.
If you heat your cabin a little warmer than usual, would that be enough to coax the glacier off your roof?
When that glacier comes down I expect it to make a pretty tremendous whump noise!
I have a "cold roof" that has an air pocket under it, so heating the cabin won't make it come down. Besides overheating the cabin is... not comfortable. I accidentally did it last night and had to open the windows and door for a few hours before I could sleep comfortably. :)
I'm just going to slice it off daily with a machete until the bulk comes off together. It does make very dramatic noises! I happened to be at home, with an out-of-town guest, no less, when the back sheet came off last spring! It comes off sooner since it faces south and doesn't have the changed angle of the porch.
