This year, we decided to try a new thing--a Winter CSA from
Offbeet Farm, which is right up the road from us. The premise is that they grow storage-friendly veggies and store them and distribute them throughout winter. Our first share had kale, a pumpkin, carrots, daikons, turnips, beets, onions, and garlic.
A lot of those things lend themselves well to simple roasting with olive oil.
Raven seems comfy with us, don't you think? She's all, "Raise your paw, raise your paw if you're sure!"
She is so goofy!
Oh Cricket! So sorry about the paw in the face! But I sure can empathise... I wake up with those paws in my face sometimes.
They are always eager for our morning run or weekend trail ski/skijor/snowshoe.
We have enough snow to ski now.
Look how gentle a skijor dog Raven is! She's never been a racing dog, so she just trots along, mild as you please. Check out this Rare footage: Skijoring at a Reasonable Pace:
Gentle, calm Raven. Sometimes Cricket runs up ahead and eggs her on, but not today. In retrospect, it may have been Queen Thistle driving those fast paces we used to do. Well, I just roll with it. Sometimes we have competitive dogs and sometimes we have chill dogs. And sometimes we have young dogs and sometimes we have old dogs. And some days I myself feel stronger while other days I do not. If we are lucky, our lives will be long and we will experience All The Things, so we might as well take them as they come.
Look, they almost always match chirality. Such peaceful girls we have. :)
And they like COLLARDSTEMZZZ.
