Wow! Hail!

When I was growing up in San Francisco, I never understood these stories I read about people being caught in surprise thunderstorms. The Bay Area only rarely has thunderstorms, and rain is seldom sudden. Clouds hover constantly, and rain is gentle and mild and lasts for several days, not several hours! However, today I experienced one of those storms I had read about. Out of a clear blue sky, clouds gathered, and BOOM! Thunder and lightning!

Rain came sluicing down in heavy sheets:

Then came hail!

In other news, Roo and I went to the Denali Center earlier than usual today since Companions, Inc had an official photographer at the hospital to take photos of all of the therapy dogs and humans. What a room that was! Half a dozen of the sweetest dogs in Fairbanks! You could just dive into a pile of fuzzy snugglin' lovin's! After we had our photo taken, we went to the Denali Center to do our usual round of visiting. They had just had lunch, and Roo helped clean up all of the food crumbs they dropped on the floor. Roo loves people with coordination problems! :D

I will try to get copies of the professional photos, but in the meantime, here is a selfie in the volunteer lounge:

A breather during a neighborhood walk:

It is well and truly summer now:

So warm sometimes that the rain puddles are a welcome relief:

Summer has arrived here as well along with 90's forecast for the week:( Last Saturday's thunderstorm will soon be a distant memory. Enjoyed the flower macros along with the musings of St.-Exupery - always a pleasure to read.
And who could resist the double dose of ridiculously cute fuzzywuzzy puppies! "Puppies this way!" - what a hoot:)

@e.davis: From hail to hot sunshine seems to be the theme of the week!
