Cricket can get a snowse, too!
We have had such a warm start to winter that there are still parts of the trail that get gooshy. When they refreeze, they freeze to solid ice and not snow, of course:
Look! Liquid water at the base of this tree!
Our favorite landmark:
Toward the end of our trail time, the ladies start jonesing to dash home. I tell them, "Nooo! Noo! Stay with us! Good girls. Want a cuddle! Hey waaaaaiit! Stttaaaaaahp! Good girls! Stay with ME!" etc, etc. But when we get to the creek crossing behind our house, I let them go and they take off like two bats out of hell. When we get home, Roo is waiting in the front yard:
And Cricket is waiting on the porch:
Rrrrroooo after visiting her Friends at the Denali Center. She has such a big smile on her face! But it is rather warm in there for her (Old People like it warm), and her winter coat makes it uncomfy for her, so we keep our visits short at this time of year.
Marinara simmering with moose and kale:
Mmm spaghetti!
Mmmm veggie scramble with duck eggs! (We get fresh, local eggs at Alaska Feed, and when they are out of chicken, I get duck.)
Awwww! They sssssnnnnuuuuggle!
Snuggle-HANCE!
Oohhh Rrrroooo:
Sweeeet Cricket!
Do you think they are comfy? I sure hope they are comfy. (Note that in this photo you can see the Heart on Roo's chest.)
Salad greens on their suppers!
"Mmmm! We like salad!"
