The Minor News reported that official "greenup" or "leaf-out" day was yesterday, but I think it was the prior day. Look! I took this photo:
This morning, I was pleased to observe that I do, in fact, still have some leg muscles. The flobble-wobble I was seeing a few weeks ago was due as much to limited range of motion as to atrophy. I can point and flex my foot most of the way now!

Would you believe I have not owned a rice cooker since I left home? I have been making rice on the stove top. Other Asians would view this as blasphemy! But the other day, my sister informed me that the rice cooker of our childhood, which is more of a steamer than just a rice cooker, was still available! Our mom brought hers from Taiwan when she immigrated in 1973! So of course I bought one, and now I can steam veggies and meats and eggs, and reheat leftovers, too!
OK how long has it been since you've seen photos of Thistle eating an apple? This is mandatory, right?

Looks like recovery is going well - yay:) Just love Thistle's expression - she is the most adorable canine consumer of apples ever:)
@e: As well as can be, although it's still frustrating being laid up! Yes, Thistle has the most expressive face. Her eyes can see deep into your soul.
