There is a lady wandering around campus nowadays with a pair of perfectly plush lab puppies. She says she brings them to school and work to socialize them, and welcomes pets and visits.
I'm such a good citizen that I always stop to help!
Ruff n tumble!
Fatty fuzzies!
"Oh, a treat?"
"We'll sit nicely for a treat!"
How stinkin' cute are they?!?

Lord! I know I shouldn't get such a high maintenance breed as a Lab when my Loki is no longer with me - but those EYES, their temperament, their everything!
Sadly, my next dog will have to be some little thingy that can't pull too hard to land med flat on my stomach...
When I lived in Inuvik, I was in charge of the in-town camp ground one summer - and also ended up taking care of a lovely blonde Lab, called Shotgun. He belonged to a family living across from the entrance to the site and would whine when I came to open in the morning. I asked the owner if the dog could come along during the day - to which he answered "Sure, ya want him, ya take him."
Shotgun made friends with all campers, he was really gentle and loving - until the day a couple of guys came into the office and acted suspiciously. He stood by my desk and looked at them, then he growled ever so slightly - and when one of them swore at him - he took 2-3 steps closer and growled louder. The two guys beat it out the door and a day or so later RCMP apprehended them when they were breaking into a private home.
Two Lab puppies! Who could resist giving them some love:)Their person must be a patient soul to have two at the same time:)
@Allmycke: I'm tempted by them, too, but remember that their brains remain puppies for years after their bodies are fully grown--a tough combination!
@e. davis: Precisely!
:)
