Is it true that cranberries are sweeter after the first frost? I can't really tell the difference, probably because I add a ton of sugar to them either way!
Your sister said even adding sugar, berries still have a lot of acidity in its own element/compound. Please eat them moderately. I wonder if their strong antioxident remains after cooking.
Arvay: I could never wait till a frost before berry picking so I never got a chance to find out firsthand. Some friends swore by it though and made some awesome cranberry jam.
For me it was always fresh blueberries! Whenever I was out biking and came across blueberries I'd just sit down and gobble as many as I could eat and still be able to pedal --whilst keeping an eye out for berry eating bears, of course.

Serious drool! I do miss eating fresh blue, cran, and raspberries. Down here I've got to settle for bramble berries.
