Salmon Chowder in da Hizzy

A classic Alaskan meal: Salmon Chowder and Pilot Bread:


Over the weekend, I made jam and this:




I had never cross-stitched a thing in my life, but when I saw the fine offerings of Steotch, I had to order this pattern and make it. I just had to, you see.

Yum! Now when you make salmon chowder, do you add the salmon at the very end so that it doesn't overcook or disintegrate into very small crumbles? Or do you not worry about it and figure the salmon has enough fat to keep it moist and flavorful?

I add it at the end, with the milk and cream, and then only heat it enough to cook, not come back to boiling.

NO COMMENTS ON MY BEAUTIFUL TRADITIONAL SAMPLER?!? Geesh.

You have never cross-stich before, I am impressed, although it is not a fancy picture, but for a first timer, it really is beautifully done. You have many gifts that I didn't even know.

Yeah, you're right, I should find more work to do. A healthy, balanced life should not include any, like, *amusement* or anything! Perish the thought!

b and mdr have been too tired for lacking sleep for a few weeks for SHE's ear infection, sinisitus and tonsilitus. Two courses of antibiotic (10 days each time) within one month period. Not to mention she had problems before that.

B envies the leisure time you have.
