Kahuku wind farm
It reminded me of Fire Island. There is talk of forming a "Island Region Wind Working Group" to share ideas and information about using wind power on islanded electrical grids. Alaska and Hawaii would both be involved.
When we were there, E and I talked about how much Hawaii reminded us of Alaska in terms of the energy independence and self-survival attitudes of the inhabitants. There's such a common theme of understanding the power of the elements in both locations that results in some very similar attitudes (which I enjoy).
