Californian multiculturalism hits my Alaskan dinner table with frijoles de la olla, Spanish rice, and stir-fried bok choy:

Extremely fond of rice and beans over here in all shapes and forms. Jamaican rice and peas with ginger, Louisiana red beans and rice, Moros y Chrisitanos, arroz con gandules.
All so satisfying and stick-to-your-ribs.
The fireweed is truly beautiful. It's hard to imagine how beekeepers can say that their honey is from fireweed as it is a wildflower and they have no control of their bees' flight patterns. Still, fireweed honey is among my favs.
