First appearance for the year...
... of fireweed! I'll take some photos when I get home tonight, but for now, you can enjoy last year's.
And that means it's the beginning of the end of Summer, right? Hahaha. That's right. Go away, mosquitoes. Die. kthynxbye.
The mosquitoes sure are bad this year, eh? They're about as thick as anyone around here remembers... one evening, I was wearing long sleeves, DEET, and all that, and I still got a few bug bites in my SOCKS!
One of them bit my LIP over the weekend! $%^&*%e$#%^%^&!!! I know objectively that they are dumb animals just surviving, but I cannot help but take it personally when they bite me. And I take great pleasure in killing them. I parade around with my fly swatter and let out modern war cries when I smack them. HA! HA! Take THAT, mother****er!
Have you ever tried Burt's Bees' Insect repellent? It uses citronella and lemongrass, so you smell like a Thai chicken marinade, but it has no chemicals. I spray it on like mad, but I'm not really sure whether it does anything at all.

You know what they say about summer in Alaska: Hope it falls on a weekend so you can have a BBQ!
Avon's Skin So Soft is a great mossie repellant.
Mossies down here are wussy compared to Alaskan Blood Suchers.
Bay Area has no mosquitoes.
I actually discovered this Sawyer controlled release insect repellent. It's not `chemical free` but, well, nothing is, eh?
