Burning up

A new fire has flared up closer to home. This one is near Murphy Dome.

The Hard Luck Creek Fire is the latest in a series of wildfires around the Interior that are testing the mettle of firefighters and fire managers in what has been one of the warmest, driest summers on record in the Interior. More than 2.2 million acres has burned in Alaska this summer, most of it in the Interior.

Well, the State Fair opens this weekend, and that always brings rain, so cross your fingers!

My fingers are crossed. Hope your air quality won't be too bad and the fire controlled asap.
