Good Grief!
It has been warm for precisely ONE week, and already there have been multiplewildfires, at least one suspected of being started on purpose by an arsonist.
Let that sink in for a minute.
What the $^#% is the matter with people?!?

I can't even fathom what would go through someone's mind in deciding it would be a good idea to purposely start a wildfire.
It also angers me to hear about people accidentally starting fires by carelessly tossing a lit cigarette from their car's window.

Yeah, that's the suspected cause of another fire that's currently burning.
However, here are two natural sources I had never heard of before moving here:
1. Leftover from the previous year, ashes that had been smoldering under the snow the entire winter.
2. An underground coal line spontaneously burst into flames, which made their way to the surface of the earth.
I gotta say, those were new ones on me.
How can ashes survive the winter snow?
Ohh... I guess I had meant to type embers instead of ashes. :)
