Views from my building

It occurred to me that I could attempt some scenery shots without leaving the comfort of my building.

Here is the courtyard:

And here is the Alaska Range, about an hour before sunset:

That big peak is called Mount *cough* and those two little ones to the right are called *mumble* and *watermelon*.

Ah, your office is in the south west corner of the Duckering building. Facing west. From about the fourth floor. Hmmmmmm, definitely engineering country...

Regarding the mountains: The new natural sciences building on west ridge (I guess it's not new anymore) has a turnaround/parking lot across the street. At that turnaround is a metal engraved plaque showing the view of the mountains and their names. Worth a look, eh?

Yes, I used to go there all the time when I was housed in Nat Sci (before I made the switch from Physics to Engineering)... which is why I am particularly embarrassed that I can't recall which peak is which. I know that there is a Mount Deborah, and a Mount Hayes, and a Hess Mountain, but which name goes to which peak is beyond my recall. :)

In one of my posts I have a labeled figure...but don't ask me to recall on the spot which is which yet either. =) http://alaskan-girl.blogspot.com/2008/09/no-thats-denali.html
