Veggies for the week
Holy kohlrabi, Batman!

mmmmm, kohlrabi! Mudder, you -must- try it, it tastes like sweet tender broccoli stems. You have to peel it, much like brocco stems, and then you just slice it up like an apple and crunch crunch.
I still can't believe you can grow tomatoes in Alaska. Do you know my tomatoes in my own garden are jeeeest now turning red?? (Ooh, that reminds me I'd better check that the squirrel did not make off with them!)
I made quick pickles with vinegar, salt, sugar, and hot peppers, and took them backpacking. :) I told my friends, "Please don't bring any veggies at all. You must help me eat kohlrabi."

As for the cabbage, I'm telling ya, kraut!
How much kraut can you possibly eat? Cabbage is always a challenge for me because it expands when you cut it up. So much cabbage!
What do you do with all the radish? I haven't figured that one out yet.
