Alaska black bear freed after getting head stuck in jar

Alaska black bear freed after getting head stuck in jar

My favorite quote:

"Sell described the container trapped on the bears head as 'one of those oversized animal cookie containers,' the Juneau Empire reported."

Also, also, from the Juneau Empire article:
"'The more attractants they can get into, the more problems it can create,' she said. 'It’s like entanglements for marine mammals. (Or) moose walking through swing sets up north. They’ll get stuck.'"

heh :)

But did he get all the hunny?

Those bears sure get into mischief:) This fellow caused a bit of a stir- a local high school campus was locked down yesterday.

Good news: no one hurt; bear captured/tranquilized and relocated - all is well :)

The photos of the little cub are adorable. :)

Thanks for sharing:) That little guy sure is cute & pretty brazen too! Seems like we're reading more accounts of bears turning up in populated urban areas.

LOL! Were you reading this blog when I was in Colorado last July? My colleagues there were all asking me for stories about Alaskan wilderness, when on my first day there a BEAR showed up in their parking lot, and we were told to remain in the building! I've never had a BEAR warning in Alaska, and they got one on Day 1! :)

I had not been reading yet - but omg that is too funny / ironic that they were the ones to get a bear warning :)
