Autumn on the Beaver Pond
It is a balmy 32F/0C today, so Autumn and I took a walk to the local beaver pond and back.
Here she is pond-ering. (eh-heh-heh... a-hem)
Go Autumn, go!
So happy!

Autumn is cute. The frozen pond/lake can hold her body weight does NOT mean it can hold a human's weight. There might be spots stronger than other spots. Unless MANY people are on it, please do not risk. Be careful and take good care of you
People snow machine and sled and ski across this pond all the time. It is shallow, and freezes before the river freezes. In fact, in places on the beaver pond, you can see tall grasses sticking up from the bottom of the pond, frozen in place. There is a reason it is a "pond" and not a "lake." :)
Stumbled across your blog this evening. I'm an SF to Fairbanks transplant myself so the title caught my eye. I moved here in 1989 (the way back time) and grew up in the San Francisco fog so ice fog makes me feel at home...but colder.
This is a nice blog. I bet your California friends like hearing about your adventures.

Autumn is so beautiful when she's running. You should post a video of her :)
