Red Skwerl

Skwerls do not hibernate so, just like their cartoon reputation, they must gather and store food all summer to last them through winter.

I was just reading that the red squirrels of Britain are endangered. Think of the Squirrel Nutkin variety. They're being bullied out by the more adaptable and aggressive grey squirrels.
To me they're all garden annoyances. Do your squirrels actually hibernate, or do they just live underground all winter?

Oh that was foolish - I just read the last line of your post that they don't hibernate. Gaaaah, I'd go craaaazy. Talk about cabin fever!
